This season we explored ideas about strength and vulnerability. We thought about dancing. Appreciation of the dancer’s power and mobility, graceful movement and fluidity on stage. It was also an opportunity to look at nature and all its beauty and resilience. These influences have shaped the way we approach each element of the collection. We tried to create a sense of balance in each look. – Nicky Zimmermann, Creative Director
“Ballet is a central theme that inspires bodysuits with wrap cashmere tops and ankle-tied ribbon heels and floor-sweeping chiffon skirts. Graffiti-print pleated miniskirts, cargo jumpsuits and silver sweatpants convey the dancer’s comfort and freedom off-duty or in-between rehearsals. In contrast, a tuxedo shirt and a tailored dinner jacket with a belted waist add sleekness to a floating gown and tulle tumbler, with black ties to elevate the look to an eventful touch. Incredibly intricate embroidery techniques that combine each curved lace with laser-cut engraving create a feathery impression reminiscent of the magic of Swan Lake. There is a darker nuance of the story that permeates the black. The feathers are also cast in rose gold and are used in accessories such as chokers and clutch purses.” – Zimmermann
